Meet Our Board

Bob Schwalm - Board Chairperson

Bob Schwalm - Board Chairperson

Bob began his relationship with the camp a few years ago to assist with the ranch camps. It was there that he saw just how real God was, and the impact that MLBC was making on so many lives, including his children, and grandchildren. Bob became a board member 4 years ago and has a passion to see the camp advance, and continue to see lives change.
Carol Bailey - Secretary

Carol Bailey - Secretary

Carol and her husband ran a mixed farming operation north of Roblin from 1971 to 2005 and presently are living at The Lake of the Prairies. Her first experience at Madge Lake Bible Camp was volunteering in the kitchen in the late 1970's and every year since then. Subsequently, their three children started to attend camp as soon as they were old enough and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Carol became a Board member in 1998 because she saw firsthand what an impact this camping experience can have on kids. She has served in that capacity ever since.
Myrna Zinkiew - Treasurer

Myrna Zinkiew - Treasurer

Myrna has been involved in Madge Lake Bible Camp since the beginning. In 1954, her husband Walter's friend Jack Shakotko had a great vision to start a children's camp. They traveled together scouting a good place and came across a site which is now Madge Lake Bible Camp. Children's work has always been important to Myrna. From her own experience she knows God can convict a child at an early age and they can understand God's Word. There are many areas at camp that one can work in. Each area is very important. Little things for God can become big things in a persons life. Myrna has enjoyed all areas of the camp. First it was a Counselor, Nurse, Cook, and a couple times a speaker. She has loved them all.

"Reaching children for God should be our number one goal . I encourage everyone to spend a day at camp."

Linda & Terry Moore

Linda & Terry Moore

The Moore family has been blessed by Madge Lake Bible Camp. Their son's Matthew and Luke, grew up attending this camp and met their wives, Kelsey and Jen here, and all four have been very involved through the years. Their son Ramsay and daughter Terra, have also invested time here, over the years. One highlight for them was working in the kitchen with Myrna and Walter Zinkiew for a week, with all four of our children working at camp. It was such a blessing for everyone. They believe that MLBC is one of the most impactful ministries in our area and on this earth, for sharing who Jesus Christ is, reaching out and encouraging many with hope, community, fellowship and truth.
Don Buhler

Don Buhler

Don joined the MLBC Board in 1991 after taking a walk around the facility and realizing the potential that Madge had to reach more campers with the gospel each year. At that time MLBC had never had more that 184 campers in a summer, but it appeared that the facility could accommodate many more. He joined the board out of curiosity as to what was limiting this ministry. Don has been a part of the board for the past 26 years. He remembers the day that he and Paul Anhalt measured off some additional land that they planned to ask the Park to give them. As they stood on the slight hill where the climbing wall now stands they prayed "Give me this mountain!" Don is a Construction Project Manager by day, and a child of God by day and by night!
Rick Windsor

Rick Windsor

For quite a few years, Rick's church in Swan River has been renting the camp for their family camp. A few of their children were campers at MLBC as well. They could see the great things God was doing in their lives. About 10 years ago, Rick and his wife Debra started helping in the kitchen and with maintenance. Somewhere along the line he discovered he could also help in another way - by keeping the camp's bikes in good working order.

Rick started serving on the board around 5 years ago. What he finds most rewarding at MLBC is being a part of a team that is working together with Christ to build His kingdom. One of his fond memories that he has of camp, was when they were helping cook during Ranch camp about 10 years ago. Their youngest daughter Nicola was with us, who was seven at the time. She was too young to be a camper, but everyone included her and let her have some involvement in the fun. Heath Butler took Nicola under his wing, well, actually it was on his horse and taught her a lot about riding. This was very special to her and blessed them as parents. It didn't surprise them that after that she wanted to get a horse to keep in their back yard!

Arlene Neufeld

Arlene Neufeld

Arlene is from Yorkton, SK. She is considered to be a "lifer" of Madge Lake Bible Camp. She went to camp as a kid, then counselled as a teenager. Then when her girls were old enough to attend she got back involved as camp nurse. Arlene has been on the camp board now for about 8 years. She loves to see God at work through the camp. She sees Him meet financial needs, and working in the lives of people. One of Arlene's greatest joys is watching campers grow up and mature in Christ and to see them continue to serve in their communities as they marry and start their own families. "I truly believe camp is one of the best places to reach people for Christ."
Luke Moore

Luke Moore

Luke's first MLBC camper experience was in 2006 when he was 12. He was hooked, attending every summer as many weeks as he could over the next 7 years as a camper, L.I.T, Jr. Cabin Leader and Cabin Leader. His best memory of camp was running like mad in the wide games and the worship times in the chapel. In 2014 Luke became a board member and feels blessed and honoured to work with such an extraordinary, God-centered group of individuals. He lives in Roblin, MB with his wife Jennifer.
Aaron Jamieson

Aaron Jamieson

Aaron lives in Roblin, with his wife and daughter. He has worked at Madge Lake Bible Camp in several different roles for many years. He became a board member two years ago and enjoys serving in this capacity.
