Thank you for considering volunteering at Madge Lake Bible Camp. We truly value all of our volunteers and appreciate how they give of their time to help us reach the mission of seeing "all camp participants grow closer to Christ". If you, or someone you know, would like to volunteer, please consider the following areas that we are always in need:
-
Kitchen Help - a very practical way of helping out at camp is serving in the kitchen. Food prep and serving at the direction of our Head Cook is very helpful. Contact the camp to see how you can help!
-
Nurse - if you have First Aid & CPR certification, or are a RN or LPN, or some type of equivalent, and would like to serve at camp in this capacity, please contact the camp for more information.
-
Maintenance - if you are handy and would like to have a practical way of serving the camp, we are always looking for volunteer maintenance helpers. Helping with capital projects, odd jobs, cleaning, etc at the direction of the Maintenance Director, then contact the camp for ways you can come and serve.
-
LITs & CITs - see the "Staff Application" page for more details on how you can apply for these positions! Click here.
-
Day Camp Staff - MLBC holds Day Camps within the Parkland Area. Contact the camp for more information if you are interested in ways to participate in a Day Camp near you!
FAQs
The short answer is YES! Depending on the role and the need, you can come for either a day or the entire week. For more information, please contact the camp directly 1(888)88-MADGE.
We have a couple of options to help with support staff housing. Either a cabin (prepare to share with other support staff) or camp may be provided by the camp, although space is very limited.
The other option is to bring your own RV/camper. We welcome volunteers to bring their own accomodations and have specific locations for RVs/campers on the property.
If you are volunteering for multiple days and are in need of accomodations or are bringing your own, please contact the camp to confirm those details prior to arrival.
First and foremost, a heart to serve! We are so excited that you are coming to participate in what the Lord is doing at Madge Lake Bible Camp and for helping provide you with the opportunity to witness his work firsthand.
If you are coming for more than one day, and are staying on site, please bring:
- own bedding & towels
- Toiletries
- clothes suitable for volunteering role
If you are planning to bring your own vehicle, you will require a park pass. Please contact the camp prior to your arrival so that we can make sure you are added to the volunteer list with the Park Office for a courtesy pass.
Before you come...
Prior to your arrival, we have a small amount of paperwork that you can come already having completed:
- Volunteer Application - please fill out the fillable form and submit to our office for your convenience. If you are unable to fill out form, we have paper copies to fill out at the camp. See the Administrative Assistant for details upon arrival.
- Criminal Record Check - if you are 18+ you will need to have a current Criminal Record Check from your local RCMP detachment. Contact the camp office for details.
- In Safe Hands - all staff and volunteers must complete the In Safe Hands training prior to working at any One Hope Canada ministry. For your convenience, we have added the link to watch at your own leisure. Please contact the camp office directly for the correct codes to access the volunteer version. *If you are unable to watch prior to attending, we will provide access while you are at the camp. Although it is more convenient to come having already watched.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to call the camp at 1(888)88-MADGE ext. 1
